Visual Listening HW1

Visual Listening HW1

First I interviewed Natalia Cabrera about her thesis. She is still in the process of naming it. I chose to get my large¬†sketchbook to interview people so it would be easier for me to go to them instead of bringing them in front of the whiteboard. The interviews got really casual and comfortable that way, also because of the comfort the conversation was ongoing for a long time. Natalia said that it was interesting to see the drawings of her interview because she usually doesn’t draw. She said it helped a lot even though she got more stressed because of the timeline. She thanked me because she felt like she was avoiding structuring her process not to get stressed however she said that it was necessary. Here is the visual:

Second person I interviewed was Sergio Mora Diaz, also about his thesis “Liminal Space”. For me it was interesting to interview him because he is also a visual person. He liked seeing his concept simplified in sketch and a mind map. I realized that the most interesting part for him was answering the “How much?” questions. He liked the interview because he thinks it clarifies the process and helpful to the person being interviewed. Here is the visual:
